Research Environment
Education is increasingly based on digital technology, which is why we produce knowledge on educational designs to support this.
The ambition of our research projects is both to generate new knowledge (theory) and to develop better educational practices.
Our research draws inspiration from the Design-based Research (DBR) tradition, in which researchers, teachers, students, and pupils collaborate to develop new and improved teaching and education. The aim of our research projects is both to generate new knowledge (theory) and to improve educational practices. We take a design-oriented and experimental approach, working closely with participants to develop and test new didactic designs supported by digital technologies.
The research environment ‘Digital Learning Environments and Educational Design’ investigates teaching and education supported by digital technologies within two main research themes.
Didactic Design of Teaching
This theme focuses on the classroom and the relationship between teacher, pupil, and subject matter. Our ambition is to build knowledge and establish methods that enhance pupils’ learning through innovative ways of working supported by digital technologies and teaching materials.
Didactic Design of Educational Environments
This theme focuses on educational design based on digital relationships between schools or educational institutions and their wider surroundings, including pupils and students. Our ambition is to develop knowledge and establish new, innovative educational models that provide pupils and students with digital access to education, with the goal of increasing completion rates.
Our research projects span a wide range of topics related to Digital Learning Environments and Educational Design.
We work broadly with practitioners and other knowledge institutions and are eager to strengthen our collaboration with the wider community as well as with Danish and international research institutions.
