Maitane

Hi, I am Mai and I am from Bilbao Spain. 

I am 18 years old, and startet September 2023 at the Bachelor of Engineering in Biotechnology here at Absalon.

I came to Denmark because I’ve always wanted to study in an international environment, and this country offered me a great science education and life style. 

A good point about this campus is the close relationship between the university and biotech companies, which creates more job opportunities than it is my impression you would get in other countries. 

This is a class room-based programme, and it is really easy to reach out to the lecturers if you need help. Everything feels welcoming, and that is very important when moving to another country. 

The education combines theory and practice and also allows you to find a balance between school and personal life. 

My advice is to learn from all the new experiences you will have and be open and positive about meeting people and trying different things. This really helped me feel welcome when I came here.
