Admission requirements
To meet the admission requirements, you need the following qualifications:
• An upper secondary school leaving certificate/high school diploma
or
• A fullDanish Admission Course for Engineering programs
With passed:
- Mathematics equivalent to a Danish A-level and
- Physics equivalent to a Danish B-level or Geoscience equivalent to a Danish A-level and
- English equivalent to Danish B-level

If you are applying with a Danish upper secondary qualification, you can find more information about admission requirements, application deadlines on our Danish website.
To document fulfillment of the specific admission requirements, you can attach a verification form to your application. The verification form must be completed, signed and stamped by the school where the entry qualification was completed.

Other assessment criteria
Applications received before the deadline (15 March, 12 noon) will be assessed by the following criteria:
- Exam results from your upper secondary school
- Work experience. Please upload CV and Employers Declaration (pdf) at optagelse.dk.
- Relevant courses
- Other relevant documented qualifications e.g. elite sports, volounteer work etc.
As part of the assessment process, applicants may also be asked to take part in an admission interview or submit a short video.

English language entry requirements
Information about how to document English language proficiency
All applicants must document English proficiency on a level equivalent to the Danish upper secondary schools B-level, in order to qualify for admission to the Bachelor of Engineering in Biotechnology.
If you do not have a qualifying examination with the required English level, you can fulfill it by passing and completing one of the following international English test:
- TOEFL with a minimum score of minimum score 4,5 (for tests completed before January 21, 2026, provided that the score is at minimum 94)
- IELTS with a minimum score of 6,5
The test result must not be older than two years from the applications deadline. The application deadline for foreign applicants is the 15th of Marts (Noon).

Distribution of study places between quota 1 and quota 2
The established quota distribution is for quota 1: 65% and quota 2: 35%

Do you need a power of attorney?
If you apply, and need to grand someone power of attorney, to fulfill your application and ask questions on your behalf, then you have to fill out this Power of attorney. The power of attorney you have to upload to your application at www.optagelse.dk.

SU – The Danish students’ Grants and Loans Scheme
Students who are foreign citizens can if they fulfil some specific conditions, be granted equal rights status with Danish citizens and thus be eligible to apply for SU (state educational grant).

Deadline for applications submitted via optagelse.dk:
- All quota 2 applicants
- All applicants with an international entry examination, including applicants holding an International Baccalaureate (IB)
Documentation: All required documentation must be uploaded to optagelse.dk and received by this date.
If anything is missing or incomplete, please check the individual deadline shown in nemStudie.
EU citizens: If you complete your upper secondary education in the summer of the current year, please state this in your application on optagelse.dk or contact us via nemStudie so your application can still be included in the assessment.
