About the programme
Study teaching in Denmark – and prepare for a career in both Danish and international schools.
The Professional Bachelor's Degree in Education with an international profile gives you the chance to explore both Scandinavian pedagogical principles and global teaching practices. The programme combines academic knowledge, hands-on experience, and cultural insight – all within a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Programme Structure and Language
Your studies are divided into two phases:
- Years 1–2: Courses are primarily taught in English.
- Years 3–4: Courses are taught in Danish, once you have reached the required language level.
If you do not already meet the Danish language requirements, you have to learn Danish alongside your studies. At the end of the second year, you must pass a Danish Language Test ("Studieprøven i dansk", Level C1) to continue into the final two years of the programme.
You will study three teaching subjects:
- English is your main subject as part of the international profile
- You will choose two additional teaching subjects – at least one of which will be taught in Danish later in the programme
Internship: Learn by Doing
Teaching practice is an essential part of your education. You will complete four internship periods, which allow you to apply your knowledge in real classroom settings:
Teaching experience includes:
- 1st year: Weekly placement at a local Danish school
- 2nd year: Full-time internship at an international school in Denmark
- 3rd year: Internship at a school in Denmark or abroad
- 4th year: Internship at a Danish school
This practical experience strengthens your teaching skills and gives you valuable insight into different educational cultures.
