Admission requirements
The admission requirements for international students include one of the following certificates:
- A Danish upper secondary school leaving certificate (STX, HF, HHX, HTX, EUX, GIF)
- The Danish/French Baccalauréat (DFB)
- The European Baccalaureate (EB)
- The International Baccalaureate (IB)
- The Option Internationale du Baccalauréat (OIB)
- Another foreign qualifying examination certificate that can be equated with a Danish upper secondary school leaving certificate.
With:
- A grade average of minimum 7.0, on the Danish grading scale or a score from an interview of minimum 30 points.
- English equivalent to Danish B-level
- Danish language proficiency equivalent to Danish A-level or ‘Studieprøven i dansk’, level C1. (Read below about postponement of this requirement)
Documentation
To document fulfillment of the specific admission requirements, you can attach a verification form to your application. The verification form must be completed, signed and stamped by the school where the entry qualification was completed.
Other basis for admission
If you do not fulfill the official admission requirements, but have other qualifications which can be equated to the admission requirements, you can apply for admission through an Individual Competence Assessment (ICA)
Admission interview
If your grade average is below 7.0 on Danish grade scale, or the average is unknown, or your average cannot be converted to the Danish grade scale, or you apply through an individual competence assessment, you must attend an interview to qualify for admission to the programme.
The goal of the admission interview is an individual screening of your suitability for study in relation to both academics and profession.

Danish language requirements
All applicants must document Danish proficiency on a level equivalent to the Danish upper secondary schools A-level or “Studieprøven i dansk” (Study Test in Danish), level C1 or equal Danish language proficiency in order to qualify for admission to the Professional Bachelor's Degree in Education.
NOTE
It is not required that you speak Danish when applying for the programme; however, you need to acquire Danish language skills corresponding to the Danish A-level or “Studieprøven i dansk” (Study Test in Danish), level C1. By the end of the second year, you must be able to provide documentation that you meet the Danish language requirement, either by passing the “Studieprøven i dansk” or by documenting equivalent Danish language skills.It is possible to attend a Danish language course alongside your studies – you can find more information right here.

English language entry requirements
Information about how to document English language proficiency
All applicants must document English proficiency on a level equivalent to the Danish upper secondary schools B-level, in order to qualify for admission to the Professional Bachelor's Degree in Education (International profile)
If you do not have a qualifying examination with the required English level, you can fulfill it by passing and completing one of the following international English test:
- TOEFL with a minimum score of minimum score 4,5 (for tests completed before January 21, 2026, provided that the score is at minimum 94
- IELTS with a minimum score of 6,5
The test result must not be older than two years from the applications deadline. The application deadline for foreign applicants is the 15th of Marts (Noon).

Do you need a power of attorney?
If you apply, and need to grand someone power of attorney, to fulfill your application and ask questions on your behalf, then you have to fill out this Power of attorney. The power of attorney you have to upload to your application at www.optagelse.dk.

Selection criteria and process
In order to gain admission to the Professional Bachelor's Degree in Education you must apply and be accepted into the Danish Teacher Education programme in Vordingborg via optagelse.dk: Professionsbachelor, Folkeskolelærer - Sommer, Vordingborg – KOT nr. 46070

SU – The Danish students’ Grants and Loans Scheme
Students who are foreign citizens can if they fulfil some specific conditions, be granted equal rights status with Danish citizens and thus be eligible to apply for SU (state educational grant).

Application deadlines

Deadline for applications submitted via optagelse.dk:
- All quota 2 applicants
- All applicants with an international entry examination, including applicants holding an International Baccalaureate (IB)
Documentation: All required documentation must be uploaded to optagelse.dk and received by this date.
If anything is missing or incomplete, please check the individual deadline shown in nemStudie.
EU citizens: If you complete your upper secondary education in the summer of the current year, please state this in your application on optagelse.dk or contact us via nemStudie so your application can still be included in the assessment.
