Application and fee
How to apply
You apply for admission through www.optagelse.dk, where you will be guided through the electronic application.
Please note: Since the International Honours Degree in Teaching is part of the Danish Professional Bachelor´s Degree in Teaching; you must apply through the Danish application page.
Sending an application requires preparation, and it is your responsibility to make sure that the application is correct. Therefore, it is a good idea to start well in advance, if you are applying for admission to one or more educations.

To apply for the International Honours Degree in Teaching, you must submit an application to: Professionsbachelor, Folkeskolelærer - Sommer, Vordingborg – KOT nr. 46070
We recommend that you read the guide, where you will find answers for anything regarding filling in the application, how to upload attachments etc.
Deadline for applications
The deadline for foreign applicants is the 15 March at 12:00 (noon.)
Documentation for supplementary subjects or other relevant documentation which is not finished before 15 March can be uploaded to your application at www.optagelse.dk until 5 July at 12:00 noon.
Foreign exam
You can find information about the rules regarding admission on the basis of a foreign exam on the website of the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science.
Foreign exams also include International Baccalaureate (IB), whether it has been taken in Denmark or in another country completed.
Recognition of foreign exam
If you apply on the basis of a foreign exam, we encourage you to have your exam recognized at the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science before applying.
Fee
Applicants who are citizens in an EU or EEA country have access to free higher education in Denmark and therefore do not need to pay tuition fee.
Applicants who are citizens in a country outside the EU have to pay a tuition fee before the start of every semester. The price for every semester is in average:
- DKK 38.047,39 per semester / Approx. EURO 5.072,98 per semester

You will receive information regarding payment for the upcoming semester once you are admitted.
Please note that Absalon will not be able to offer any types of scholarships.
VISA
If you need to apply for a VISA in Denmark, you will receive an answer to your application no later than 15 May. This is only if you fulfill the admission requirements including the admission interview. Otherwise you will receive the answer to your application when you have passed the admission interview.
Please note that we cannot guarantee that you will receive a student visa.
We will send the VISA application once you have paid the tuition fee for the 1st semester.
Residence permit
The International Honours Degree in Teaching is part of The Danish Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching. The following rules apply for foreign applicants:

If you a citizen from EU/EEA and Switzerland or have one of the below mentioned residence permits you are eligible for free higher education in Denmark:
- Permanent residence permit in Denmark
- Temporary residence permit in Denmark, with the possibility of a permanent residence permit.
- Residence permit as the accompanying child of a non-EU/EEA parent holding a residence permit based on employment (§9a and §9m of the Danish Aliens Act - text in Danish)

If you are a citizen of a country from outside the EU/EEA and either have a residence permit for staying in Denmark temporarily or no residence permit at all, but plan to commute to Denmark from your home country, you can apply for admission to the Teacher Education as a self-paying student.
Self-paying students are themselves responsible for their stay in Denmark. Admission to one of University College Absalons Danish educational programmes does not give the self-paying student access to Denmark or permits for staying in Denmark.
We can help you if you wish to apply for a student visa, but we cannot guarantee that you will receive a student visa. You can read more about this on the site Nyidanmark.
As a self-paying student your admission will be on the condition, that you pay for the 1st Semester of the education before study start.
You must fulfill the same admission requirements as other applicants and you will receive an answer to your application ultimo July, unless you need to apply for VISA – then please read the information under Fee at the bottom of the page.

Deadline for submitting documentation for quota 2 assessment on www.optagelse.dk. Documentation for supplementary subjects or other relevant documentation which is not finished before the 15 March can be uploaded to your application at www.optagelse.dk until 5 July at 12:00 noon.
