Learning Danish
When studying and living in Denmark it is an obvious opportunity to learn the local language thereby opening even more doors in your future career in Denmark or abroad. We currently lack educated teachers, so there are many possibilities for a job after graduation.
As part of the Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Education with an international profile, you are required to acquire Danish language skills if you do not already fulfill this requirement when applying for the program.
By the end of the second year at the latest, you must provide documentation of Danish language proficiency corresponding to the Danish A-level or “Studieprøven i dansk” (Study Test in Danish), level C1. Many students choose to attend a Danish language course and thereby pass the “Studieprøven i dansk” (Study Test in Danish) or must document equivalent Danish language skills.
Signing up for a Danish course
It is possible to enroll in a Danish language course either in your local municipality or at Sprogcenter Næstved. Sprogcenter Næstved offers weekly classes at Absalon.
You can find more information regarding the course at Sprogcenter Næstved.
You will have to pay 2000 DKK as a deposit at the language course provider BEFORE you start your Danish Classes. As you pass your tests on time, you will get the deposit back from the language course provider.
A Danish course consists of four parts – and after each part you will be tested to be able to continue the language studies.
There is also options for supplementing your Danish language learning through online courses, e.g. A2B. At speakdanish.dk you can also find a few links to online Danish lessons.
For all questions related to the Danish language course, deposit, and practical matters, please contact the language school or course provider directly.
