Application and fee

How to apply

You apply for admission through www.optagelse.dk, where you will be guided through the electronic application.

Sending an application requires preparation, and it is your responsibility to make sure that the application is correct. Therefore, it is a good idea to start well in advance, if you are applying for admission to one or more educations.

We recommend that you read our application guide, where you will find answers to anything regarding filling in the application, how to upload attachments etc.

Application deadlines


15 March, 12:00 noon

  • All quota 2 applicants
  • All applicants with an international entry examination, including applicants holding an International Baccalaureate (IB)

Documentation: All required documentation must be uploaded to optagelse.dk and received by this date.
If anything is missing or incomplete, please check the individual deadline shown in nemStudie.

EU citizens: If you complete your upper secondary education in the summer of the current year, please state this in your application on optagelse.dk or contact us via nemStudie so your application can still be included in the assessment.

Foreign exam

Rules
You can find information about the rules regarding admission on the basis of a foreign exam on the website of the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science.  

Foreign exams also include International Baccalaureate (IB), regardless of whether it has been taken in Denmark or completed in another country.

Recognition of foreign exam
If you apply on the basis of a foreign exam, we encourage you to have your exam recognised at the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science before applying. 

Applicants who need a study-visa for staying in Denmark while they study will receive guidance and help to fill out the visa-application forms from the individual educational institutions for which they have applied for admission to one or more educational programmes. If you have applied for admission to a programme at University College Absalon you will be contacted by the Admission Office. You ar welcome to contact the admission office with questions regarding study-visa at admission@pha.dk. 

Fee

Tuition fees for EU/EEA citizens
Applicants who are citizens of an EU or EEA country have access to free higher education in Denmark and therefore do not need to pay a tuition fee.

Application deposit (non-EU/EEA applicants)
As a general rule, Absalon requires applicants from countries outside the EU to pay an application deposit fee of 3.750 DKK. The fee must be paid prior to assessment of the application.

The deposit is non-refundable, unless the applicant is admitted to the programme. In that case, the deposit will be deducted from the first tuition fee invoice.

Applicants who are citizens in a country outside the EU have to pay a tuition fee before the start of every semester. The price for every semester is listed below:

  • 1.-5. Semester DKK 81.578,14 / Approx. Euro 10.877,09 per semester
  • 6. Semester DKK 10.833,75/ Approx. Euro 1.444,50
  • 7. Semester DKK 81.578,14/ Approx. Euro 10.877,09 
  • Total DKK 500.302,58 / Approx. Euro 66.707,01
    You will receive information regarding payment for the upcoming semester once you are admitted.

Changes to fees
Please note that tuition fees may change.

Important – from September 2026 intake
From the September 2026 intake, all students will be required to pay tuition for the entire first year of the programme (1st and 2nd semester) in advance.

Scholarships
Please note that Absalon is not able to offer scholarships.
